Abstract
Abstract Based on F -expansion method of variable-coefficient, we obtain nonautonomous optical solitons and cnodial waves constructed by Jacobian elliptic function solutions of variable-coefficient nonlinear Schrodinger equation. Further, we discuss optical solitons and cnodial waves in two kinds of inhomogeneous nonlinear media with constant and variable dispersions.
