Abstract
In this article, we have discussed the analytical solution to the higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation representing the propagation of short light pulses in the monomode optical fibers. A simple transformation is introduced to convert the nonlinear partial differential equation into an ordinary differential equation. A verity of traveling solutions are obtained by employing the auxiliary equation method. The technique can also be functional to other sorts of nonlinear evolution equations in contemporary areas of research.
