Abstract

In this research report, we have synthesized Zn-Im-MOF using Zinc Nitrate Hexahydrate and 2-ethylimidazole in aqueous solution under certain experimental conditions. Lab synthesis of Zn-Im-MOF has been confirmed through Powder X-ray diffraction technique, Field emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared and UV–Visible spectroscopy. After confirmation of optical properties of Zn-Im-MOF using photoluminescence spectroscopy, we have explored 1-Nitronapthlene detection in solution phase. Off-quenching mechanism has been observed during the interaction of MOF with analyte in the range of 0.01–5 ppm in ethanol at room temperature. We have achieved 1.37 ppm limit of detection for 1-nitronapthlene using Zn-Im-MOF.
