Abstract
Bragg diffraction in a planar optical waveguide by a grating in the form of a characteristic parallellogram results in a Hankel spatial spectral transformation of a one-dimensional input image. It is found that all the main optical transformations given by planar or cylindrical lens optics can be obtained by this means.
