Abstract

Using the model interpolation scheme band structure of paramagnetic iron given recently by Baker and Smith (1977) and the special direction method for performing the Brillouin zone integrations the authors report calculations of the imaginary part of the dielectric function and optical conductivity. The effect of including matrix elements and a phenomenological relaxation time are also investigated. The results are compared with the experimental data.
