Abstract

AbstractPressure effects are studied on the fundamental indirect gap (Eg), direct gap (B0), and next higher critical point (B) in InS single crystals by using a diamond‐anvil cell for the first time. A synchronized decrease of their energies is observed with pressure increasing up to 2 GPa. This unusual behavior is inferred partly due to a softening of InIn bond under pressure.
