Abstract
We used a variety of transient and quasi steady state photomodulation techniques for studying the photoexcitations in films of linear transquinacridone. We show that the initial Frenkel exciton self traps into a mixed covalent-ionic excimeric state within 5 ps. The subsequent relaxation is understood in terms of ionization and recombination of charge transfer states.
