Abstract

A novel fluorescence probe for d-glucose is formed by anionic dye NAHBDS and cationic boronic acid functionalized poly(benzyl viologen salts) q-BBV2+. The two-component probe showed reversible fluorescence “on–off” response for d-glucose. For probe, the specific bonding way of anionic dye and cationic polymer quencher/receptor provides an appropriate microenvironment and multidimensional bonding sites which actively catch d-glucose molecule.
