Abstract

The elastic, inelastic and `reactive' collisions of positrons with atomic targets over a broad range of collision energies (across the positronium (Ps) formation threshold) require, in order to be realistically described by parameter-free computations, the knowledge of the full interaction and couplings between many channels. A model potential which can be constructed in either real (effective) or complex (optical) form is briefly described and successfully employed to yield elastic and inelastic partial cross sections, integral and differential, for atomic targets both neutral and ionic.
