Abstract

In this paper, we study the phase shift changes of graphene with two different configurations. One of the configurations is a graphene with infinitesimal thickness that we counted as surface conductivity in formulation. Another one is a graphene with a finite thickness dg, and with an effective dielectric permitivity $ \varepsilon_{g}$ . The transmission and reflection spectra of the proposed configurations are studied based on the Maxwell’s equations and the using transfer matrix method. The phase shift changes have been investigated for substrate permitivitties, the ambient temperature variations, and various chemical potentials of graphene. Differences between the phase shift changes of the two models are seen in both reflection and transmission spectra.
