Abstract

A two-dimensional spatial filtering method is described which can perform binary logic operations with a high degree of parallelism. The data processing consists of two steps. First the binary data are encoded in a recording material as scattering or as not-scattering. In the second step the logic operations are performed in a coherent 8f-filtering-setup. Experimental results are shown which illustrate parallel logic processing of two-dimensional images.
