Abstract

Many areas of engineering require real-time matrix inversion. It is often found, however, that inverting large matrices using digital electronic computers consumes too much time. Therefore, parallel optical processing is considered for realtime matrix inversion. In the present work a confocal Fabry-Perot system with optical feedback and gain is employed to implement the iterative algorithm based on the relation where I is the identity matrix and A is a large matrix with real or complex elements.
