Abstract

Atmospheric pressure D.C. Glow Discharge Atomic Emission Spectroscopy of aqueous samples has been performed on a microchip. The liquid sample itself was used as the cathode for the discharge. The detection of copper in solution has been achieved with the observation of several Cu lines. Stability issues need to be resolved to allow for further optimisation and characterisation of the device.
