Abstract

Triplet state luminescence can be used for high sensitivity detection of NQR in organic mixed single crystals. This detection scheme relies on a nuclear spin reservoir coupled by a microwave field to the optically pumped triplet electron spin reservoir. The subsequent resonant dealignment can be monitored optically thus not only enabling the detection of guest molecules in low concentration, but also the simultaneous detection of NQR transitions in the singlet ground state and the excited triplet state of the investigated molecule.
