Abstract

Optical anisotropy in an optical fiber under the influence of torsion and bending stress is examined. The optical properties of the optical fiber in terms of indices of refraction and principal axes of the optical indicatrix are discussed. The additional bending stress broke the radial symmetry dependence of the optical principal indicatrix imposed by torsion stress alone.
