Abstract

This paper presents novel theoretical and experimental results of the temporal response of optical amplified recirculating delay lines. These optical amplified recirculating delay lines have been used for equalizing sensor signals from hybrid fiber buses. To assure nondistortion of telecommunication data in these fiber buses, optical equalizer high transient times must be avoided. The time analysis carried out in this work allows the development of equalizer design rules to overcome the transient time limitations and fulfil the steady-state equalizing scheme.
