Abstract
We have determined the optical absorption line shape, for an A 2 → E electronic transition in a C 3 v defect center, by the method of moments. Comparing this line shape with that obtained in the quasiclassical approximation (i.e., by using Frank-Condon and adiabatic approximations), we study the validity of the quasiclassical approach.
