Abstract
This paper introduces a new scheme to produce millimeter-wave (mm-wave) 16QAM in Base Station (BS) in Radio over Fiber (RoF) system based on Dual-Drive Mach-Zehnder modulators (DD-MZM). The millimeter-wave is generated by OFM (Optical Frequency Multiplication), furthermore the modulation on optical-wave is transferred onto millimeter-wave. Through this scheme the remote local reference signal can be obtained in the Base Station (BS), which lowers the cost of the system. The proposed scheme is proved feasible by theoretical derivation and simulation.
