Abstract

Retinal herniation, leading to the formation of a small optic cyst in the choroid, is reported for the first time in a fish (Acrossocheilus hexagonolepis). The herniation resulted in the disorientation of photoreceptors and the displacement of the choroid gland towards the suprachoroid.
