Abstract

In this work, we propose a new radio resource allocation scheme called ODM-QPC (Opportunistic Dual Metric scheduling based on Quality of service and Power Control), for the uplink LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks. The scheduler aims to allocate efficiently the Resource Blocks (RBs) with maximizing the system throughput and taking into account the fairness among users, while subject to the SC-FDMA constraints. Providing QoS requirements is also presented. In fact, it allocates a maximum number of RBs to each User Equipment (UE) according to its target QoS. Once RBs are allocated to UEs, Power Control (PC) is then applied to the mobile's emission power without affecting the user's throughput. The proposed radio resource algorithm has several interesting proprieties such as maximizing the aggregate throughput with considering equity, satisfaction of the QoS of users and reduction of the user's power depending on the user's channels conditions on the set allocated RBs.
