Abstract

The article deals with the partnership between the cities of Opole and Bruntál in the Polish-Czech borderland. The origins and creation of that partnership is presented from the wider perspective of Polish-Czechoslovak and Polish-Czech relations at the end of the 20th century. Since December 1997 Opole and Bruntál have cooperated on the basis of a mutual agreement. The article also shows the cities’ most important common activities in the framework of thepartnership and concludes by evaluating the cooperation itself.
