Abstract

With fentanyl's influence accounting for most of the changes in local and national drug trends, it should come as no surprise that fentanyl appears to be responsible for a major shift in the profile of methamphetamine‐related deaths in Los Angeles County. A significant increase in deaths in which opioids were a contributing factor has been accompanied by a drop in deaths with associated cardiovascular factors, a primary danger of stimulant use.
