Abstract

The study aims to determine the opinions of teacher candidates as to the portfolio assessment. The study group consists of 150 teacher candidates at Anadolu University, Faculty of Education. Data were collected using a questionnaire, which were then analyzed with percentage, chi square test. Qualitative data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique. In conclusion, teacher candidates have stated that portfolio is an objective, and vital assessment technique which fairly measures performance. They have also stated that it contributes to their individual and occupational developments. They are of the opinion that the biggest problem they face in portfolio is timing and that they need orientation so that the evaluation process runs smoothly and efficiently.
