Abstract

To the Editor —At the session of the American Medical Association at Atlantic City a committee was appointed to collect the opinions of representative obstetricians, gynecologists and general practitioners on this question: Should the puerperal uterus be emptied of ovular remnants in the presence of infection, and if so, when? The object of the committee is to obtain information which will enable it to formulate rules for the treatment of septic abortion and post-partum infection with retained placental fragments. The chairman will, on request, send a printed blank to any general practitioner in order to receive his opinion on eight questions.
