Abstract

Technology integration in recent years, contributes to expanding the scope of e-learning, through the use of Internet-based learning management systems. The development and application of innovative educational programs and materials based on modern computer technologies and methods, break stereotypes and allow students to determine the time and pace of study, depending on their individual characteristics. Blackboard is the largest educational technology and services company and a world leader in training and communication software development. The purpose of this article is to study the opinion of the students from the specialty "Dental Technician" about the teaching method, through the online platform “Blackboard “ of the Medical University-Varna. For the purpose of the research we used: study of literature sources and data on the topic, sociological method, graphical and comparative analysis to provide the results. The object of research are 78 students majoring in "Dental Technician" - from I (38%), II (31%) and III (31%) course. According to the data, the group of young people predominates, with the largest share in the sample being respondents up to 25 - years of age. According to the results, half of the respondents visit “Blackboard “ every day, ⅔ from respondents say that the online system facilitates the learning process, which is evidence that the educational platform is successfully and actively used by our students. We found that the majority of respondents 53% positively evaluate the work of the platform and say that they use it actively, regardless of where they are (85.9%).
