Abstract

This article describes an incident where the Gillette (Wyoming) Water Division received a call from a large medical complex that was having a serious problem with air in the water system. It was found that a solenoid valve that controls the air supply to a dental unit was stuck partially open, creating a vacuum that allowed the air to backflow into the water lines.
