Abstract

Objectives: In 2004, the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) developed a set of staging guidelines for the management of pediatric patients with ovarian germ cell tumors. Prior to these changes, pediatric ovarian tumors were managed similarly to those in adults. Recent single-institution reviews from high-volume centers have revealed poor adherence ( < 5%) to these new guidelines.
