Abstract

AbstractThe start‐up of a process plant is subject to deviations that can become initiating causes of process safety events. Even a process plant that has been in operation for a long time and has not undergone any significant changes is subject to risks during the start‐up procedure. The objective of this work is to share good practices related to the start‐up of process plants that were implemented at Cargill's Biodiesel production plant in Três Lagoas, Brazil in order to avoid Process Safety accidents.
