Abstract

The article describes the operational measures for reduction of power and energy losses in electricity distribution networks. For the assessment of their effect and their correct application, it is necessary to use complete and accurate models of the distribution networks. Creation of such models in combination with real-time measurement systems will also allow for the monitoring of technical and nontechnical losses and in this way could facilitate the timely detection of thefts. In conclusion, a plan for development of potential for reduction of power and energy losses, applicable for the electricity distribution companies in Bulgaria, is proposed.
