Abstract
Systems to facilitate the manipulation of Power Station Operational Data have been installed in a number of Electricity Supply Board (ESB) power stations in response to business needs in such areas as Performance Calculations, Remanent Life Calculations, Emissions Compliance, etc. Most Operational Infonnation Systems (OIS) are based upon modem digital control systems but the need for Information Systems for power plants with earlier controls was recognised and a cost effective solution sought. This paper discusses the feasibility of OIS for older plant and their design aspects as implemented in ESB in general and in North Wall Generating Station in particular
