Abstract

Abstract : Since World War II, the United States has participated in several conflicts that have been fought for limited objectives. The results of these conflicts, it can be argued, have been disappointing and illustrates the difficulty in terminating wars of limited objectives. analysis of war terminations issues from limited wars such as Korea, Vietnam, Panama, etc. have shown how difficult it has been in achieving a desired political objective or end state. Therefore, the lessons learned from these conflicts can be extremely important to operational commanders to insure that war termination considerations are addressed at the outset of hostilities and continues through post conflict operations.
