Abstract

The operational admittance of an electrode process is developed using a linearized current-potential expression where an a priori dependence of the rate constant of the electrode reaction on potential is not assumed. Double-layer charging and faradaic processes are not separated; however, simplification of the operational admittance yields a separate term, (ϖ q /ϖ E ) ϖ o , ϖ R , in parallel with the remaining admittance. The expression for diffusional impedance and adsorption capacitance resulting from this treatment oontain electrode reaction rate constants.
