Operation of irradiation facilities

Abstract

The operation of a gamma irradiation facility with maximum loading of 18.5×10 15Bq of Coblt60 was undertakan by the shanghai Irradiation Center since 1986 (ref. 1). In the six years of management of gamma facility for multi-purpose uses. the source was almost in continuous operational all years around. The economic gain and the social gain from operation of SIC radiation facility were significient. In this paper, development of the irradiation facility and it operation and relevant R and D are introduced.
