Abstract

The life cycle of Aerial Wireless Sensor Network (AWSN) is divided into two phases: dynamic phase and steady phase. With different network characteristics, the two phases require different routing protocols. In order to ensure smooth network communication and save energy, this paper proposes a dual routing protocol operation mechanism for aerial sensor networks. This mechanism designs a routing protocol suitable for two network phases, and designs an efficient protocol switching mechanism at the critical point of the two phases. Simulation experiments show that the dual routing protocol switching mechanism of the aerial sensor network can effectively improve the performance, enhance the energy use efficiency, and prolong the network lifetime.
