Abstract

The trend of low voltage integration and direct current (DC) form of renewable energy and flexible loads promote the development of the low voltage direct current supply and utilization system (LVDCSUS). However, the operation characteristics and operating modes analysis of the LVDCSUS have not received too much attention. This paper proposes four typical operating modes of the LVDCSUS. With the analysis of the operating characteristics and application scenarios of the system, the switching conditions are proposed between different operating modes considering the DC bus voltage as the control goal. In addition, the corresponding voltage coordination control strategies of the four operating modes are proposed. These strategies can ensure that the DC bus voltage does not cross the line when the environment or load changes and works stably in the corresponding operating mode. The simulation results verify the validity and feasibility of the mode division and the proposed control strategy.
