Abstract

The difficulties of technology transfer to oil countries we present due to the fact that not enough local engineering staff is available. The recruiting of staff is therefore to be done abroad.The training of the staff employed by the owner from different countries of the middle east has to be done during the commissioning of the power plant because staff was not earlier available for training. The training was split into different phases-Training for operation staff:Classroom training:-principles of the plant-special design and operation criterias-on the job training during start up, operation and shut down of the plant.-Training of maintenance staff:-on the job training during erection and pre-commissioningThis training program revealed some fundamental difficulties for the trainers as well as for the trained staff.
