Abstract
Abstract In the inplane-switching (IPS) mode as electric field is applied to the liquid crystals along the direction which is parallel to the plane of the substrates with interdigital electrodes. We calculated: • electric field profile for interdigital electrode configuration; • threshold value of the operating voltage under the assumption of strong director anchoring. The threshold voltage crucially depends on the ratio between cell thickness, electrode gap and electrode width.
