Abstract
The paer is devoted to the philosophy of the operating system of two-machine computing complex (OSCC) oriented to control processes in large multipurpose automatic data processing systems in real-time environment. OSCC is an adjustable multiprogrammed operating system allowing to execute simultaneously a random number of jobs (job steps) in the real-time multiaccess mode. The computing complex can function in the duplexing mode, distributed work-load mode and one-machine operating mode in the case of failure of the other machine. The requirements on the OSCC design, main components and principles of operation are given in this paper.
