Abstract
The process operating performance assessment for industrial processes is a crucial problem and has attracted tremendous attention from academia and industry recently. In this study, a novel operating performance assessment method based on Gaussian mixture model and Gaussian process regression (GMM-GPR) is proposed. Only a single assessment model covering the characteristics of different performance grades is established based on GMM-GPR, which avoids the data division of different performance grades and error evaluations due to the wrong assessment model invoked. In online assessment, the assessment index constructed by the predicted value of the comprehensive economic index is used to evaluate the operating performance of the process, which is more general for actual production process and easy to apply. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified though the gold hydrometallurgy process.
