Abstract

In this article Naomi Stanford, now Training Manager with the Price Waterhouse Company, describes the introduction of open learning into the Prudential Insurance Company, principally with the Open University's Effective Manager course. She describes training as both reflecting and being able to change the company culture and examines the particular role open learning can play. The article will be included in a book to be published later this year, ‘Self Development in Organisations’, editors Mike Pedler and Tom Burgoyne.
