Abstract
Abstract A method for the opening of cyclopropyl ketones with samarium(II) iodide followed by the intramolecular trapping of an electrophile is described. This process leads to the obtainment of functionalized spirocyclic, bicyclic, and tricyclic ketones in moderate to good yields.
