Open source learning management system

Abstract

This article examines the use of open source learning management systems (LMS) in distance learning. Open source LMSs provide an effective and cost-effective solution for delivering online learning materials. This paper reviews the current state of open source LMSs in distance learning, the advantages and disadvantages of using them, and the future implications of open source LMS technology. Finally, recommendations are provided for selecting the right open source LMS for distance learning.
