Abstract

Discusses the use of open source to provide software for the masses for social capital. This is in contrast to the current proliferation of social media software like Facebook by commercial enterprises hoping to use social media and biases to push products and profit from personal private social capital. The paper also discusses social media and tools to share data and increase social welfare like databases for drug interactions and education solutions. Open source social tools allow for rapid social welfare creation.
