Abstract

Digital library mades a remarkable change in the field of library and information science the user interface. In the present scenario, the open source software awareness is highly increased in the world, especially among the librarians. This paper presents a study of three open source digital library management software used to assimilate and disseminate information to world audience. The methodology followed involves online survey and study of related software documentation and associated technical manuals. Open source digital library packages are gaining popularity nowadays. To build a digital library under economic conditions open source software is preferable. Examples of Open Source Software's are: Apache, FreeBSD, GIMP, GNOME, KDE, LINUX, Mozilla, My SQL, D-Space. This paper briefly discussed in D-Space, Greenstone and E-Print.
