Abstract

Open Science refers to both the practices and norms of more open and transparent communication and research in science, and the discourse on these practices and norms. The implementation of Open Science must be supported by national policies. Many European countries have adopted Open Science policies to improve the quality and efficiency of science, as well as to enhance economic and societal growth. This article presents the context of the Republic of Moldova in the implementation of Open Science policies in the Republic of Moldova and the institutional involvement in Open Science practices. Prerequisites for sustainable and consistent implementation of Open Science, such as Open Science infrastructure, incentives for researchers, research assessment, and Open Science policies' compliance with the EU countries experiences and EC requirements on a national level are discussed.
