Abstract
Abstract This paper deals with an object-oriented model for integration of different types of standardised and available fieldbus systems into one control system. This object-oriented model gives openness for the integration of various fieldbus systems, adds new functionalities and provides the user with an easy and common access method to sensors and actuators. As a selection of representative fieldbus systems PROFIBUS, CAN and INTERBUS are considered.
