The open Latarjet procedure has proven to be an effective procedure in the treatment of anterior shoulder instability, particularly in patients with glenoid bone loss and/or an engaging Hill-Sachs lesion. The transfer of the coracoid bone block to the anterior glenoid provides stability via the “triple blocking effect”. We describe our indications and surgical technique for the open Latarjet procedure.
