Abstract

A simple method for the preparation of opaline films on flat and patterned glass substrates was investigated. Opaline films and opal micro-channels were obtained by a solvent-evaporation-induced self-assembly process. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and optical transmission spectroscopy have been used to investigate the structural quality of the films and optical band gap.
