Abstract

Copeptin is a stable, sensitive surrogate marker for Arginine vasopressin (AVP) [1]. It has been shown to be useful as a prognostic marker in patients with acute diseases [2]. Preoperative B-type natriuretic peptides is a predictor of mortality and myocardial infarction in patients undergoing noncardiac surgery [3]. The aim of the study was to evaluate the serum concentrations of copeptin, and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), and 3-years mortality in a cohort of patients operated for carotid stenosis.
