Abstract

Objective: Venous leg ulcers (VLUs) which arise from chronic venous insufficiency in the lower limbs are a major cause of morbidity and a significant negative impact on patients' health-related quality of life. Compression therapy is the mainstay of treatment for CVI. Surgical treatment such as vein ligation and stripping may be necessary in advanced cases. Despite appropriate treatment, VLUs can be resistant to healing. In this following case series, we applied Adipose derived autologous stem cells on venous leg ulcers for regeneration with or without other treatment modalities and reported healing period and clinical outcomes.
